Please Support I Have a Name as They Travel To Kenya in 2011

IHAN (I Have A Name ~ Aid Society) is a local grassroots charity that is committed to building relationships that will create holistic sustainable change locally and internationally. In doing this they are travelling to East Africa in the Summer of 2011 with a group of Vancouver Island University alumni to continue to develop their relationship with the NGO (non-government organization) with which they are currently partnered and join in the hands-on work this NGO has begun.

The IHAN group that will be traveling to Africa--six young adults from Nanaimo, B.C.--are volunteering to work at an orphanage called Hope Community Center, in Kenya. It is a full-time orphanage with 250+ children, 18 staff, an elementary school and sustainable agriculture. The group plans to be there for two weeks, helping in anyway they can. IHAN is helping to raise funds and awareness for this school. To raise these funds we have planned some exciting fundraising events. Please check the website for more information about the fundraisers.

For more information on this charity or the work they are doing internationally and locally please visit their website or join the Facebook group.
